The Power of Women

Two remarkable women from different backgrounds are joining forces to create The PWR of WMN Summit. Their collaboration symbolizes the fusion of diverse experiences and expertise aimed at empowering women in their communities.

Julia's journey from the Dominican Republic to Dorchester, driven by advocacy and political engagement, intersects with Vanessa Farino's dedication to challenging conventional paradigms and fostering authentic connections among women from professionals to entrepreneurs. Raised in Boston but originally from Bolivia, Vanessa's upbringing adds another layer of richness and perspective to her work, echoing the resilience and determination found in both her and Julia's stories.

With Julia's commitment to inclusive representation in governance and Vanessa's mission to foster generational wealth and impact, The PWR of WMN Summit becomes a transformative space where women can harness their collective strength to effect positive change. Their shared dedication to empowering women through education, motivation, inspiration, and advocacy promises to resonate far beyond the summit, leaving a lasting impact on individuals and communities alike.

As a graduate of Boston Public Schools and college, she became a community organizer, empowering individuals across diverse spectrums to engage in political processes. Winning her first term by a single vote, she has since led the passage of 15 pieces of legislation and secured millions for Boston's communities. Notably, she established the Government Accountability Committee to address issues in education, housing, and transportation.

Now in her third term, Mejia remains dedicated to informing, influencing, and inspiring political participation for #allmeansall inclusive representation.
